His pursuit of academic excellence led him to the United States, where he continued to expand his expertise in human resource development and organizational learning.

In 2020, Dr. Yoo earned his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development (HRD) from the University of Minnesota, where he also completed two minors in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship and Quantitative Methods in Education. His dissertation, titled “The Effects of Expertise Diversity and Task Interdependence on Project Team Effectiveness,” garnered national recognition, earning him the 2021 ATD Dissertation Award, one of the most distinguished honors in the field of human resource development.

Before joining The University of Texas at Tyler, Dr. Yoo served as an Assistant Professor of Management at the Melvin D. and Valorie G. Booth School of Business at Northwest Missouri State University, where he made significant contributions to the business and management programs.
